I found this meme over at Wordpress Tag Surf, and I thought it was sweet, and since I’m in tag mode, here comes the tree:

This isn’t this year’s Christmas tree, but it’s pretty much what it looks like every year… We don’t decorate it until the 22nd or 23rd, and a couple of days before that, we go out and chop it in our woods. So - sometimes it’s got all its branches on one side, sometimes we have to put a lot of effort into getting it into the base, and always, always there’s a moment of drama when the lights won’t work…

The star at the top of the tree was made by my father from chocolate tin foil wrapper in the days when my parents were students in France (around 1969), and money for Christmas ornaments was non-existant. I’ve hung on to it…
