You could say it worked. Between 2.46 and 2.48pm yesterday, I had well over 100 (closer to 130) visitors to this site from Bux.to. So – I did get my money’s worth. Kind of. Still, I’m not happy.

Well, almost. I’ve just discovered a way to get traffic to my site and get paid in the process, so that even if I pay for the traffic, I get my money back with a little effort.

Bux.to will charge you very little for, say 100 clicks on your ad. (That’s what I bought, as an experiment).
I then registered for their PPC program, that pays me to click on their ads. Not much per click, but earning back the money spent shouldn’t take too long. If I manage to refer people to the program, their clicks will earn me as much as my own clicks, so I get my money back even faster. I might even end up earning a bit, or I can plow it back into more advertising. Either way, I win!
At Bux.to, you don’t have to sign up for both, you can choose to advertise without doing any clicking of your own, or you can sign up to be paid per click without advertising yourself – it’s your choice.

Active referrals will earn you as much per click as you earn yourself though, so get the word out…

Get Paid Money to Blog

Suddenly, I got 3 opps from PayU2Blog the other day.
Some people don’t like them, especially in the US, because they require US citizens to fill in some tax form or other. Luckily, that’s not the case with us overseas wogs…
They also require you to post on the keywords you’re given, you don’t get to turn down opps. That may sound oppressive, but I don’t find that it is. You don’t have to blog about the keyword (or the site concerned) at all (they call it freeform) – the challenge is to find a way to incorporate a given keyword into a post about whatever is relevant to your life. I enjoy that, it challenges the old grey matter, so I let myself be inspired…
You can go on holiday, of course, you just blank out the dates you’ll be away, and you won’t be given opps for those days. You also get to set a number of categories/topics for your blog, so that you don’t get too many opps on … say… astrophysics, if that’s not within your blog niche…
All in all, I recommend PayU2Blog, if you’re looking for new ways to make a buck or five!

… for a special little boy or girl?
I know a little girl around here who’d be absolutely overjoyed to get one of those.
You have to live in the US to book one, so she’ll have to pass – I hope Santa goes international next year!

The letters are personalized with the name of your child, the home town and state, as well as the name of a friend. The postmark is North Pole, Alaska, there’s a return adress, and the letter is signed by Santa Himself.
There are 6 letters to choose from, and they’re not expensive. I’m sure there’ll be a lot of starry-eyed little children in the US this year!

No, it’s not the newest coffee trend. Nor is it our puppy. (Now, there’s an idea!!)

This blog has been accepted by Smorty , and this is my first post for them here at Mum’s.

Smorty connects advertisers with bloggers. Advertisers pay bloggers to write opinion posts and reviews, linking back to the advertisers site.

It’s good for all involved – advertisers get to advertise on blogs, and bloggers get paid for blogging, which is what they enjoy doing in the first place…

I blog for fun and recreation, and I also enjoy to blog for money. I’ve posted for Smorty on my other blog for some time, and they’ve always been on the level with me. The criteria for the opps they’re offering are clear, you always get to choose whether you want to accept an opportunity or not, and they always pay on time. They don’t take ages reviewing your posts, and if your post is rejected (yes, it’s happened to me… my fault!) they’re clear about the reason why.

I wouldn’t mind getting more opportunities from them, there usually aren’t many on offer, but I think if I check back often, I’ll be able to accept more opps. They tend to go quickly!

If you’re looking for ways to earn money from blogging, give Smorty a try.

All you need is a Paypal account and a creative mind… Good luck!

Enhanced with Snapshots
I just installed a nice little tool on this site called Snap Shots. It enhances links with visual previews of the destination site, interactive excerpts of Wikipedia articles, MySpace profiles, IMDb profiles and Amazon products, displays inline videos, RSS, MP3s, and more.

Sometimes Snap Shots brings you the information you need, without your having to leave the site, while other times it lets you “look ahead,” before deciding if you want to follow a link or not.

Should you decide this is not for you, just click the Options icon (the little wheel) in the upper right corner of the Snap Shot and opt-out.

I think it’s quite good – it provides extra info on links, which can be useful both for the viewer and for the destination site. Have a look at your site/link, and see what info is displayed!

Not listed? Drop me a comment, and I’ll see what I can do…

linkylovearmy 170w
This is another venue that has opened up on this blog…
Within a day or two, I’ll be on my first “mission”.
It works like this: you write a review on a given topic (you’re free to accept or decline), that includes two links related to the site you’re reviewing, and one link to another blogger. The keywords are given too.
In time, the favor is returned to you – the number of backlinks you can expect varies, and is estimated before you accept the mission. You’re also paid – via Paypal, so it’s easy, and safe.
I don’t know how many opps (sorry, missions) I’ll be offered, or what’s going to come out of it linkwise, but I’m quite excited about trying something new.
As someone said: Groogle can go….. well, there.

Presenting bloggerwave!
This blog was actually accepted!
That maybe because I’ve got another blog in their system already, but if you’ve got a young blog and are rearing to go, give them a try. Getting your blog evaluated only takes a couple of days – they’re quite quick off the mark.
bloggerwave is a company that’s based in Denmark, and they welcome bloggers from all over the world. I’ve always been paid promptly, and they offer their new bloggers the chance to start earning right away, by writing a little post about them.
The only thing is that they don’t offer many opps to choose from. That may be because my blog(s) have a low page rank, so it might get better if things pick up my end :-) . I hope so. We need good companies like this in Europe as well.

Bluehost.com Web Hosting $6.95

So far, I’m very happy with it.
Being a total newbie, the most important thing for me was to actually get started, figuring out the basics, and finding a reliable company at an affordable price.
Blue Host delivered all that, as it turned out, and I was able to set up this web site relatively easily.
I’ve yet to explore all the possibilities – If I were really addicted, I could take advantage of the hosting of unlimited domains from one account, for example. If I ever set up business, I’ve got it covered, at no extra cost!
I don’t know how much space 300 GB is, and I’m probably never going to find out…
Wordpress was uploaded with no problem at all, though, through Fantastico, and there are loads more extras (stats, plug-ins, stuff!!) that I haven’t even looked into.
I haven’t used their Customer Support Service (yet), but it’s been top ranked by hosting review companies. We’ll see about that if and when I need them…

Why I chose them?

Totally random, plus the professional look of their website and their price. I was lucky, I think!
