Serena has neuroblastoma - a form of cancer. Her father has created a blog for her, in the hope of raising enough money to take her to America for treatment. Help Save Serena, go there and read her story. Any help you can provide will be much appreciated. Please spread the word!
I’ve been tagged by Cindi (Moomette) to help spread the awareness on the ‘Breast Cancer Awareness’ month of June. Please help convey the importance of regular examination and early detection of breast cancer, maximizing the chance of survival and recovery.
Here are several facts on breast cancer that everyone should know about:
•The first sign of breast cancer usually shows up on a woman’s mammogram before it can be felt or any other symptoms are present.
•Risks for breast cancer include a family history, atypical hyperplasia, delaying pregnancy until after age 30 or never becoming pregnant, early menstruation (before age 12), late menopause (after age 55), current use or use in the last ten years of oral contraceptives, and daily consumption of alcohol.
•Early detection of breast cancer, through monthly breast self-exam and particularly yearly mammography after age 40, offers the best chance for survival.
•Ninety-six percent of women who find and treat breast cancer early will be cancer-free after five years.
•Over eighty percent of breast lumps are not cancerous, but benign such as fibrocystic breast disease.
•You are never too young to develop breast cancer! Breast Self-Exam should begin by the age of twenty.

You can help the lives of many women by spreading the word about The Breast Cancer Site pink button as many times as you can. If The Breast Cancer Site receives 8 million clicks on the pink button in June, their premier sponsor -Bare Necessities- will donate $10,000 for more free mammograms. CLICK the pink button today!

Additional fact: Yes, boys, you can get it too.
Please join in to make yourself and others aware of how to detect this sneaking disease. I’m sure we all know someone who survived, and many knew someone who didn’t.

Thanks so much to Lady Rose too…
I’m so lucky. We did get sunshine, and # 4 Brats big day on Saturday was absolutely lovely.
This is the state of my party tent on Thursday evening - pouring rain and tent roof propped up by broomsticks and patio furniture…
We’ve been invited out for a meal by sis and her hubby - she had her birthday 2 days ago, and since he had to work on the day, he decided we should make an evening of it on Saturday.
I believe we’re in for a treat, too… The restaurant is called Refsnes Gods (Gods means estate), and it’s famous in the area for its excellent service and gourmet kitchen.
The main building was built in 1767, and it’s also a renowned hotel.
I’ll be driving, so I’ll only be able to enjoy the food and not the wine (one of the brats will be sleeping rough in a cave tomorrow night, and we want to be available if something happens), but boy, will I enjoy the food… I’m not sure we’ll be up for the Grand menu (7 courses), but I’m confident we can get through 4 or 5…
Misty over at My Dogs Keep Me Sane is expecting… A brand new meme is about to see the light of day at any moment, and it’s going to be a fun, easy one, just right for a Sunday.
It’s going to be hosted here: Camera Critters, but it’s not quite born yet, so I suggest you read all about it over at Misty’s.
If you’ve ever taken a photo of an animal (your pet, your neighbours pet, a lizard, a butterfy, a cow in a field - any critter), you’re welcome to join in. The rules will be fairly simple - as I said, just right for a Sunday meme…
Sarcastic Mom and her family are living in mould hell, they’re all getting sick from it - her BABY BOY is getting sick… Their landlord does nothing but procrastinate, and all they want and need is to get out of there as fast as possible. Medical bills are piling up, though, and terminating the lease before time might be costly.
Go see A Whole Lot Of Nothing for things you can do to help, or go see Sarcastic Mom for an overview of the ghastly situation and a PayPal donation button.
Any donation is appreciated!
