She was 43. She had her first stroke, due to an aneurism, 8 or 9 years ago, and had lived with the sword over her head since. She was 5 months pregnant when the first one hit her, and her baby girl will be 9 years old in July.

You never know. Which, in many ways, is a good thing. Our friend struggled for all these years with the fear of leaving her children behind, and sadly, that’s what happened in the end.

We try to learn from these things. Learn to live life now. Hard lessons though.

I got an email this morning. It went like this:

“Dear all friends, relatives, business-contacts and people I might know.

I hope you will find time to contribute to this project, we are
creating a peaceful army of mothers from all over the world – trying
to put pressure on the people with power, to stop the attacks in
Gaza, going on at this very moment.

Maybe you’re not a mother yourself, but surely you know a couple of
them…Please spread this e-mail to all the mothers, step-mothers,
fostermothers or women-who-feel-like-mothers out there! Spend a few
minutes to take a picture of yourself and send an e-mail with your
reason why the attacks should stop, and it will be published on the
Army of Mothers blog:

Today, we’re celebrating Miracle Boy’s second birthday.

We’re also celebrating #1 Brat’s sendoff – we’re taking her to her new school tomorrow. A year of learning anything and everything about music, developing her talent and living away from home…

Anyway, I’m feeding 27 (or 28) people  tonight, so I’m NOT here… Actually, I’m off to find a Kosher recipe. My aunt is from Israel, her parents are visiting and will be joining us this evening. I don’t want them to leave here hungry just because I’m ignorant. I’m doing a buffet, so I can incorporate just about anything, all I need to do is find something appropriate…

That, and a tiny bit of cleaning and clearing up. Bye!
