My back is better, but the pain has migrated to my right thigh, leg and foot, which confirms my suspicion of a problem with the sciatic nerve. See a doctor? Nope. I get by on prescription-free painkillers.

I came across something today, though, that made me drool slightly… I’ve always pictured massage chairs to be large, lumpy, shapeless things, that you’d never want in your sitting room. Not so these from Human Touch.

Massage Chairs that give a full body human-like massage experience, allow you to customize the massage area, intensity and technique, with intutitive controls that put you in command of your massage experience - and look stylish too - give me two of those, please.
They really would fit into any room - there are several models and colors to choose from, and according to the manufacturer, their robotic massage system is based on techniques used by leading massage therapists, physicians and chiropractors. A truly Human Touch…
Looks like absolute bliss - throw in a warm blanket and a butler, and I’d never get up…

Brought to you by
fortumo.pngDo you have great information for sale? A brilliant idea for a contest? Do you have a blog or website?

In that case, Fortumo might be for you.

Fortumo has clients that are well known portals, but also small businesses can benefit from the service.
A typical Fortumo user is an internet entrepreneur with a web page or portal who wishes to provide sms based services via his or her web page.

Creating mobile services with Fortumo is as easy as creating a blog or home page. Anyone can create their own SMS service in 5 minutes and start earning revenue, whether they are students, web entrepreneurs or working from home.

At the moment, five types of services are available for beginners. Sms-info, sms-campaign, sms-chat, Pay for video (with Youtube) and sms-chat for Facebook are targeted at users without a lot of techical skills, and can be set up very easily.
If you’re more experienced in setting up mobile applications, the Premium Service could be for you.

Some examples:

SMS-info enables you to sell information via SMS. Users send a keyword to a short code, and get a reply message with information provided by you. You, in turn, earn revenue for each SMS sent.
SMS-based text-to-win campaigns are used by the huge brand names to create buzz about their products. You can do the same for free, without any startup or monthly fee. Every SMS will earn you revenue, and you can set your own price.
SMS-chat allows you to add a chat-box or advertisement column to your homepage, blog or portal. People can use SMS to send announcements or ads, generating revenue for you.

Fortumo is available in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The company is preparing to launch the service in several Asian and other European countries this year.

I’ve always wanted to go to Florence. For the architechture, the food, the wine and, of course, the classical Art.

For the latter, the undisputed place to go is the Uffizi Gallery. They’re all here - Leonardo Da Vinci, Philippo Lippi, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Titian, Rubens - even Rembrandt has his own room here. There are rooms dedicated to 13th and 14th century painters, to German and Flemish masters, to the Renaissance… and of course to all the great names of the history of painting.
You can go to the virtual Uffizi right now and see them all. The complete catalog is on display here. Not that a photo on a screen gives them justice, but it might just entice you enough to take thr trip…

In that case, the site also offers links to all sorts of tourist services. First of all - museum tickets. Don’t spend your holiday standing in line, buy your tickets to the Uffizi and other museums online, and skip the queue. Accomodation, from B&B, via Holiday farmhouses to Luxury villas in Tuscany can all be booked directly. You’ll find guided tours of Florence and the museums, limousine service - there’s even a link to guide you towards real estate, in case you don’t want to go home…
For your shopping needs, you can come prepared - explore the Hand Made In Florence section…

As for me - I’d spend my days in museums. The Uffizi, the Modern Art Gallery, the Medici Chapels, the Silver and Archaeological museums… intersparsed, of course, with lovely food and wine and a little bit of shopping… Oh, yes. Florence is on my wish list…

Sweet little puppies have that effect… There’s so much more to buying a dog, though, than how cute it looks and the price!

Is it used to being with people? Interacting with children? Has it been handled a lot? What are the parents like? Is it mentally and physically sound? And, if you’re considering a particular breed of dog, is it up to the standards set for that breed?

At Salt Creek Kennel, near Tulsa, Oklahoma, they pride themselves on their high breeding standards and the quality care each puppy receives. They have Yorkie puppies for sale that have been raised in their home, are well socialized towards both adults and children, and are up to the AKC Breed Standards. They also breed Maltese dogs, English Bulldogs and French Bulldogs, and are committed to the health and happiness of their dogs, as well as to customer satisfaction before and after the sale of the puppy.

Buying a puppy means you also have to take a look at yourself, your family and your own life. Are you prepared to take on the responsibility? A dog needs love, exercise, proper feeding, sometimes a vet, and it needs training.

If you can answer “yes” to all this, you’re a dog person, and what you’re buying is a best friend! All you have to do now is decide on the breed. Aren’t those Yorkies the cutest???

I do. I wonder what you think about my new(ish) template, whether you’d mind audio ads, and all sorts of self-conscious stuff. I sometimes wonder about other things too - like what does “my” audience think about the various candidates for the US election - since I don’t know what to think.

At Easy-Poll, you can create opinion polls about everything under the sun, and post on your site. A name for your pet, what car to get, who’ll win Idol, what color for your bedroom - register, create a poll, post it, and let Easy-Poll handle the rest.

You need no additional software, and it’s absolutely free. Let’s see… what to ask you people first???

I’ve found just the place to shop for lighting to install in our stables. Actually, MagnaLight have equipment for all sorts of heavy duty lighting needs.

The remote control Golights, for example, would be just the thing for an outhouse/toolshed, where the need for lighting is never static. Our stables will have quite a high ceiling, so remote control lighting is worth considering.

Rechargeable flashlights would be extremely practical too - a shame they don’t make them with built-in tracking devices - our flashlights disappear, and we buy new ones all the time. There never are batteries either (not the size we need, anyway), so a couple of rechargeable ones would be just the ticket.

Whether you need lights for diving, worklights, military spotlights or… batteries, MagnaLight have got them, and lots more.

I’m off over there now, to see if they can help me with some powerful outdoor lighting as well.

Have you ever thought of visiting… say Denmark or Iceland?

Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, is rated as one of the world’s best cities to live in, despite the high cost of living. To the average person, though, compared to places like London or Paris, accomodation is quite affordable.
To help with your planning, and for last minute hotels and special deals, try these sites: Denmark Hotels and Copenhagen Hotels.

The Danish love music – from open air concerts and festivals to small bars and clubs playing all types of music. You’ll find whatever tickles your fancy in Copenhagen - ranging from jazz, blues, folk and pop to rock music. Copenhagen also has a heaving night life, and a must if you’re going in the summer is the Tivoli garden, that is both a gardeners delight, an amusement park and a popular concert venue.

You’ll also discover that the Danish are quite easy-going, that they love their food, and that they have hospitable and friendly dispositions.

Reykjavík, capital of Iceland, is often dubbed “the nightlife capital of the north”. It’s famous for its nightlife during the weekends. Icelanders tend to go out late - alcoholic beverages are quite expensive, so most people will have a drink with friends in private before going out. Bars that look rather quiet can fill up suddenly, usually around midnight on a weekend.

Beer was banned in Iceland until 1989, but has since become Icelanders’ drink of choice. There are over 100 different bars and clubs in Reykjavík; most of them are located in the city center. Often, an establishment that is a café during the day will change into a bar in the evening.
For great deals to visit this beautiful volcanic island of the North Atlantic, check out Cheaperthanhotels – Iceland. You’ll find affordable options for last minute booking or year round deals to combine with your business trip or vacation, at these sites: Iceland Hotels and Reykjavík Hotels.

After your night(s) out, treat yourself to a visit to The Blue Lagoon. It’s the world’s largest open air hot water source - and it’s a spa… There are many indoor facilities too, but the main attraction is the open air rock pool, naturally heated from the center of the earth, with reputedly miraculous effect on your skin, your mind and your hangover…

Denmark, Iceland or both… It’s up to you!

Are you thinking about setting up a .com site or blog? Wondering which web host to pick?

This is one website I wish I’d found back when I was fumbling in the dark, trying to decide on my web hosting choice. What I ended up doing was “just picking one”, and I think I was lucky, but it would have been so much easier if I’d gone through Web Hosting Choice.

They have a directory of web hosts, as well as their hosting plans. You can also search by price.
If you’re new to this, they have a Learning Center and FAQ section that will guide you through the maze…

Good luck! Web Hosting Choice looks like a good place to start!
