… Christmas presents to do with what he’s almost never had… Spare time!
Being laid off, he’ll have time (for a while, anyway) to devote himself to… say… exercise, or watching sports, or getting a haircut, or even hanging out with his friends.
Actually, apart from the haircut, and exercise in the form of farmwork (he’s already got plans – he’ll be a lumberjack in our woods, and produce firewood for winters to come, as well as for sale), I don’t quite see him doing any of the above.
That set of Nike golf clubs just wouldn’t do it for him. He would probably question my sanity if I got him one… He also finds watching sports on the tv about as interesting as watching paint dry, and the day I see him entering a pub or bar to “hang out with his mates” will be a day preceded by a month of Sundays.
My hubby likes knives (for use outdoors and on the farm), practical, warm garments and porcelain (we collect a couple of dinner sets…) for his presents. Actually, he’ll like anything I give him, as long as I’ve given it some thought. In his case, it’s definitely the thought that counts!
