Mo ’s gone clubbing today…

I haven’t been a member of many clubs in my day – founding a secret club never occurred to us when we were kids. Probably because we didn’t have one of these:

I was a proud member of theĀ  4h.jpg club for many years though, and had a lot of fun there. I think I learned a few things too.

In high school, a few girls founded the Society for Free Body Odor, which in Norwegian becomes FFK. That happened to be the same as our local football team… ffk.jpg

Later, when I worked at a mountain resort, some of my colleagues and myself found ourselves compelled to start another club – Girls for Taken Men – POM in Norwegian. We’d all had experiences that had culminated with: “By the way, I’m married/engaged/in a relationship” and felt the need for a sisterhood. Once we had them sussed out, we had a lot of fun…

That’s it, I think, if you don’t count my long term relationship with the local sports club (I was into gymnastics – those were the days) and my membership in a political party, that I believe is still valid.

I went clubbing as well, in my younger days. So much so that I was awarded a VIP membership at my favored night spot, for long and faithful patronage. Those were the days…

Stumble it!

Ah, yes… “Those were the days, my friend, we thought they’d never end, we’d sing and dance forever and a day…” That song came to my mind as I read your post, Stine, haha. I very fondly remember those days so long gone. Country dancing all night long, 5 or 6 nights a week. Sigh.

Thanks for visiting me tonight.

I love the title of your blog! I can’t even be for sure how I ended up here other then I’ve been hopping around reading Manic Monday posts!

I enjoyed reading and liked how your thoughts associated to one another.

The phrase, “my long term relationship with a sports club” cracked me up as well as the VIP aware you mentioned for your faithful patronage!!!

Happy Manic Monday!!!!! Thanks for sharing!

I wish I had a tree house like that when I was a kid :o )

After Hours Says:

Really cool tree house. The clubs you belonged to sound pretty interesting…the free body odor seems a little stinky, but otherwise great!

I always envied the kids who got to be in 4 H. I wanted to have cows and horses and goats but we lived in town most of the time.

For a person that avoided clubs you sure have belonged to a lot of them.

Lisa Says:

That’s the tree house I always wanted, but never got! Can you imagine the fun you could have in that thing?

CrAzY Working Mom Says:

I remember when I was a kid we would make club houses out of things we’d find out in the yard like old boxes, plywood, etc. :) What fun we had!!
