# 1 Brat is off to school. It’s a boarding school, that offers such varied curriculums as watersports, theatre, music, outdoor sports, volunteer work in Ecuador and solidarity Kenya. There is an International class too, if anyone’s interested. Our Brat is into music, and felt she needed/wanted a year to explore her talent, while deciding what to do with her life. I thought that was a wise decision. It’s much better to take your time than to rush into something just because it happened to be available.
Norway has a whole array of higher education schools, usually located in rural areas, that offer various forms of tuition; within the arts, humanitarian studies, sports at all levels, design… where many people go to figure out what they want, like our Brat, or they use it as a springboard to university. These schools often offer very interesting school trips as well, so the “kids” get to broaden their horizons in a safe manner… Many schools are run by Christian organisations, many are not. The one Brat goes to is owned by the Lutheran Free Church, without being stifling in any way, as far as she tells us. Learning tolerance towards others’ way of thinking is important too…
Last years music class had their own blog, I hope to be able to follow the offsprings progress through this year via a similar one!
This is the small seaside town where th school is located - a lovely place!
