The first lamb of the season – a tiny, beautiful, black ewe.

Today’s been crazy, #1Brat and I have put the party tent up on the terrace, she’s been cleaning rugs and sofas, and I’ve been off shopping for food till I was ready to drop. I also got Miracle Boy the cutest little outfit, inspired by national costumes… Photo opps are lining up… I was going to try to find a new outfit for me too, but ran out of time.

My father has arrived from France today, he’s staying with Sis, but hubby went to pick him up from the airport. I’m looking forward to seeing him tomorrow. Sis has kindly invited us all for dinner, which means I can concentrate on the upcoming event, and finish off the cleaning while I plan Fridays cooking marathon…

We’ll be 38 people, #4 Brat will be driven home from church in a horse carriage pulled by two huge work horses, and I will post the menu when I’ve got it sorted in my head. (That might not be till after the event, actually, but in that case it will be accompanied by photos!)

In the meantime I shall be popping in here to use this on a regular basis:

Yay on the little black ewe. How adorable. You look like you have WAY TOO MUCH or your plate. Enjoy the visit with your dad. You’ll do fine, but be careful banging your head on the stress reduction kit. I don’t want you to hurt yourself. :)

it sounds lovely, and my grandparents had sheep, over 200 and my dear grandmother named them all. there was “old one ear” and piggy piggy pork, things like that, so cute, they would come when she talked to them. she loved them in the spring with the babies and there was usually one in the kitchen by the wood stove if the mom died. good luck with the big event, will be thinking of you…

smiles, bee
