Not to grandparents living close by, but really abroad. 'cause I've done so. With my 4 kids. But never on a "charter". All planned by the means we had in the 60'ies and by family cars. When the oldest was less than a year old. We even had to stop in Paris Centre, to give him hot food (Bleue Gaz - Butan ). And the the Youngest, well, they asked to go to Paris for the opening of "EuroDisney". They had been to France, from Norway since less than 1 year. Even to Kroatia.
