This is what we’ll be experiencing here in a few hours… A partial eclipse of the Sun. I’ve got blind spots already – where ARE those sunglasses?????
PS: Sunglasses just won’t cut it, I know. You need special goggles to avoid damage to your eyes. Welding goggles for example. Sadly, I’m fresh out of those, so I’ll just have to look at photographs after the fact, and experience the eerie feeling of darkness mid-day – without looking at the sun.
UPDATE, August 2nd: This is how it looked from an observatory not far from here, yesterday at 12.30pm.
