What an amazing photo, and what a way to live. My life's goal is to get out into the valleys and mountains and live a more secluded life closer to nature.

I moved to the country about 6 years ago. We have a lot of limestone that has already caused our washing machine to break down twice! No problem with electricity so far...
Our private joke is that it's not really quiet out here as everyone from the city assumed it would be! The pensioners make the most racket!

A happy New Year to you!

That must be so frustrating. We only have to deal with water pipes freezing on occasion. You have a whole mess of issues I would not want to deal with! You get total credit for perseverance in the country. I get the benefits of the country without the hassles... :)

We have a little bit of both worlds - we live in a house that was built in 1817, but in 1922 the original owners family sub-divided their land and built two houses on either side so we have neighbors 'too close for comfort', since our property is 3 times as long as it is wide. But at least we're not in a subdivision that is rife with rules. When we move, we will be looking specifically for a house with more land so we can enjoy the quiet of nature, too! :) Thanks for reminding me that a future move will be a good thing! ;)

I'll trade you. I've got neighbors coming out my ears. Then let's mention the dogs that they put out back when they go to work that bark all day long. I'll trade you.

Have a terrific day communing with nature. :)

Thankfully, we don't have problems here with our water -not in the quality anyway. And where I live, down in the valley, near the end of the water line, we also generally have good pressure. But my son, whose house is up atop the hill, about 3/4 of a mile from my house, has terrible pressure problems. It takes upwards of a half-hour, at least, for him to fill the tub to bathe or to run his washing machine. A bit of a hassle there. Electrical problems though -now that, or at least the light bulbs blowing out -seems to be a regular happening here. I don't know if it is the house wiring, the quality of light bulbs (but it is the same regardless of what type of bulbs we use) or if it is a problem caused by the power company itself (Never thought of that) but we do go through lots and lots of light bulbs here too!
